Dr. Heymann completed medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston (UTMB), graduating with High Honors and as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at UTMB, where he served as chief resident, and a fellowship in Neuroradiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and carries a Certification of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology.
He has been in faculty practice at UTMB since 2016 where he is an Associate Professor in Neuroradiology and serves as the Program Director of the diagnostic radiology residency and the Associate Program Director for the Integrated IR/DR residency. He is also the institutional lead for the Imaging Stewardship pillar and is involved with the High Value Practice Academic Alliance, working to more efficiently utilize imaging resources for the betterment of patient care. He has been a national speaker for the American Association of Neurological Surgery’s Advanced Practice Provider course for the last four years, including the creation of enduring educational content, and he is actively engaged in medical student, resident and fellow education.
